Sat 10 Mar 2018: TILFORD TO WAVERLEY ABBEY TUNE IN TO NATURE WALK (8miles)

This walk will give you a chance to tune in to nature by having two silent sections of about a mile, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. It will enable us to listen into the sounds of nature such as bird song, the wind through the trees and squirrels playing with their nuts without the distraction of the group just for a while. Simple signing will be used to communicate as demonstrated by the walk leader. We start this picturesque walk from Tilford's quintessentially English village cricket green. We'll make our way to Crooksbury Hill where there are great views of the surrounding country side from Gibbet Hill to Buster Hill. After lunch at the Barley Mow in the village of The Sands, we make our way to the historic ruins of Waverley Abbey, returning back on tracks above the nearby River Wey. At the end of the walk we will refresh ourselves at the pub or nearby cafe.where you can chat as much as you want .
