Sat 10 Oct 2026: DENBIES TO WESTCOTT AND BACK (11miles)

This is the longer anniversary walk from a couple of years ago.
We will head (in a very around about sort of way) to Westcott for lunch before climbing to the viewpoint on Ranmore.
Then going around Westhumble and back to the start.

There are quite a few short steep climbs and descents plus a couple of more sustained ones on this hilly walk.

Wed 14 Oct 2026: WEY AND CHERTSEY BRIDGES WITH FERRY BOAT RIDE (5miles)

A river walk starting from Weybridge, across Chertsey Meads to Chertsey Bridge where we stop for refreshments at The Bridge before walking back past houseboats and river mansions to Shepperton, where we take a 5 minute ferry boat ride back to Weybridge. (Ferry will cost £3.50 one way).

Walton Lane Car Park, next to the Elmbridge Canoe Club, in Weybridge. From Walton Bridge take Walton Lane and continue along the lane for 1 mile - the car park is through a hedge on the right. From Weybridge, take Thames Street and continue along the lane for half a mile, going past The Minnow - the car park is 100 yards further on, through a hedge on the left. A cafe and toilets are available from 9.00 on D’Oyly Carte Island, a 2 minute walk from the car park using the footbridge.

5 miles. Leisurely pace. Flat walking. Could be wet underfoot if has rained significantly beforehand.

Sat 17 Oct 2026: SAND, HILLS, A LAKE AND A BREWERY (12miles)

From the start we will do a loop on Hankley Common where we will go over a few hills.
We'll then cross over onto Frensham Common and over The Devils Jumps (another hill) before heading for lunch somewhere in the vicinity of Frensham Little Pond, if the weather is good maybe on one of the sandy beaches, if not we'll head for the cafe and try to find some shelter. Coffee and cake available at the cafe but they are slooooowwwwww........
We will then head to Farnham Brewing's micro brewery for a quick refresh before crossing Tankersford Common and Farnham Heath Nature Reserve (a little bit hilly) on the way back to Tilford.

A short circular walk from Pirbright heading out via the church across woodland tracks and paths and country roads. Possible drink afterwards in one of the pubs in Pirbright.

Sat 24 Oct 2026: BURNHAM BEECHES (BOOKING FOR PUB LUNCH REQUIRED) (11.5miles)

A walk round Burnham Beeches and Egypt Woods, heading up to Hedgerley for pub or picnic lunch before returning via Fulmer and Stoke Common to Farnham Common. Beautiful Autumnal Beech woodlands (hopefully) with ponds, wetland areas, farmland and heathland (also wet).

From M40 Jct. 2 A355 Beaconsfield Rd. go South 3 miles to Farnham Common and look for brown tourist sign 'Burnham Beeches' on right in town centre. Follow Beeches Rd. over cross roads onto Lord Mayors Drv. Car Park is on the left.

11.5 miles. Moderate pace with occasional bits of brisk. Gentle rolling hills. Some road walking (country roads). We have to cross the A355 in a couple of places. Rain and mud possible (esp. Stoke Common).

Wed 28 Oct 2026: SHEEPLEAS AND AROUND (7.5miles)

This walk will take us through the lovely woods of Effingham Forest and Netley. We will make our way down to Gomshall for afternoon tea, if open, then a lovely uphill climb. The paths should be fairly dry underfoot but who knows!!

This is a lovely walk on the South Downs with some hilly sections, woodland paths, a bit of quiet lane walking and open stretches on the Downs. Optional drink at lunchtime at the pub in Hooksway (not booked)

Harting Down National Trust Car Park. If approaching from South Harting, the car park is on the left hand side at the top of the hill on the B2141 after the turning for Hill Lane. Don’t turn left onto Hill Lane! It’s a National Trust car park and charges now apply - free for NT members or via PayByPhone.

Sat 7 Nov 2026: THE AGM AMBLE (SHEEPLEAS, LOVELACE BRIDGES, EAST HORSLEY) (5.5miles)

This will be a delightful preamble to our AGM later in the day. The route takes in common land ;woodland forest tracks and some road walking in the East Horsley section. The ground drains well and there should be little mud. The walk affords the opportunity to visit three of the famous 'Lovelace ' bridges and to view the sites of two lost bridges. There are no stiles!

Due to the length it is anticipated you will make arrangements to eat after - or wait for cake at the AGM.
